Nuclear Science and Technology Open Research

Do you work within nuclear science, engineering, and technology fields at Los Alamos? The American Nuclear Society (ANS) has recently launched a fully Open Access  platform called Nuclear Science and Technology Open Research (NSTOR) in collaboration with open research publisher F1000 (a subsidiary of the ANS publishing partner Taylor & Francis).

From the NSTOR website:

“Nuclear Science and Technology Open Research is a fully open access, online publishing platform for researchers, scholars and industry professionals in the fields of nuclear science and technology. Nuclear Science and Technology Open Research aims to provide a source of up-to-date publications from the expanding field of nuclear science and technology by offering rapid publication and robust and transparent peer review following publication. See our full aims and scope for a detailed description of the topics covered.”

The benefits for researchers include:

  • Authors can publish a wide variety of article types, including traditional research articles, datasets, methods, software tools, posters, slides, null results, incremental findings and more.
  • Articles are published rapidly and openly, so anyone can read and cite the work.
  • A transparent and innovative evaluation process, including invited peer reviews, which enhances engagement between authors, reviewers, and readers.
  • As a launch bonus, NSTOR is offering a 100% discount on all publishing charges for anything submitted through December 31, 2023.
