The Research Library provides a large collection of print and electronic books, journals, reports, conference proceedings, and many audio/visual materials.

The Oppenheimer Study Center building is open to the public Monday through Thursday, 8am-5pm and Fridays, 8am-4pm. LANL Badgeholders have 24/7 access.

Research Library items are available for checkout to LANL employees and retirees only.

Electronic Access

The Library’s catalog via Primo is available to anyone, listing our holdings for print and electronic books, journals, patents, and unclassified reports. Most databases and electronic journals listed on this web site are restricted by license agreements to use by Laboratory staff only. Members of the public may use these resources from within the Library building only.

Technical Reports

The report collection is not accessible to the public. Please see the Reports page for more information on our publicly-available reports databases and frequently asked questions.

Reference Questions

We regret that we do not have the resources to answer reference questions from the public received via regular or electronic mail. We suggest you check with the public or university libraries in your area for assistance.
